Wow, so high school has absolutly flown by! Sometimes I can't actually grasp that I'm a Senior already. I've already been in school for six weeks. I always had the impression that, with the exception of the Senior exit project, your senior year would be a breeze compared to your other three years. Uhm... I'm finding that to not be so true. In fact, it looks like I'll be involved in my school repsonsibilities more this year than any previous one.
So there's TONS of stuff I HAVE to complete (and pass) in order to recieve my diploma this Spring. Things such completing my Senior Research Project, Senior Exit Project, On Demand Writing, Portfolio, community service, and passing Health & P.E.
My English teacher already has us started on our Research Project. We pretty much have to read a novel, do half a dozen pointless activities with it, and then type an 8 page essay. How lovely. I chose to read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair.
My class also completed the On Demand Writing testing this week. The Board of Education decided to have Seniors do it now as opposed to in the Spring since, well, we really don't care (or try) once the end of school is that near (by then either you're graduating or you're not.) I enjoy writing...but...that was totally a non-fun four hours.
Health is... meh... dumb. I hate it. It's not as bad as it could be, but I still hate it. The state* has no right to instruct me on how to behave physically, emotionally, and socially. I'm 17, and I'll pretty much do as I please by this point. I'm also still trying to see if I can do some alternative to P.E.... gah, I'm dreading that so much.
College. Still debating rather I want to go or not. Or, if I do, when. Thursday I went to a college fair at Thomas Moore and got more out of it than I thought I would. Figure if I attend college I'll stay in Kentucky since I get my KEES money, plus tuition is cheaper anyway if I go to school here. Speaking of college, I picked up a ACT packet today. Woo... let's hope I can score over a 20. Any advice? Not that you can really 'prepare' for an exam like the ACT anyway, though--It's so random.
If I don't go to college I'd either settle in Canada as soon as possible or bum my way around Europe and Japan for a few years, jumping from one intentional community to another.
So yeah... I've pretty much been rambling here. Point being, I've got quite a few decisions I've gotta make, and a bunch of stuff to keep up with in school.
